Researching a topic
Before we could start writing about our chosen topic, we of course had to pick one first. In order to help us do this, we created a audit detailing all the topics we researched during Unit 9. This was so that we would have an overview of topics we already know, and can think about which ones we enjoyed and if we perhaps wanted to incorporate them in our FMP. As I already have an idea of what I want to do for my FMP, rather than looking for a new topic I enjoy, I was looking to find one that would allow me to create what I am aiming to.
The one I came up with was Violence, from the legal and ethical constraints research. More specifically: What are the violence and gore limits in cartoons, ethically and legally, and how far can they be pushed? This topic would allow me to freely explore the idea I have, which is to turn the little comic I have created, that is based on Alice in Wonderland but much darker and more morbid, into an animation.
If this topic however fell through, I had another Idea which spawned from the topic of Video games impact on crime. I thought that an FMP about a detective trying to find the real reason a man committed a crime, when others have blamed it on a particular video game he was playing, would be quite interesting. However it doesn't grab me as much as my first idea.

Final Report
After this we also split up into groups and made mini maps of our personality traits and likes and dislikes, so we could explore what we might enjoy doing. However, if anything, I think this has only further proven that my first idea fits me very well.

To present our topic and our plans and ideas for it to the class, we were tasked with creating a moodboard and presenting it to everyone.
On my moodboard I showed examples of western vs eastern animation and what differences I could see at first glance without any further research. I also then went into which of the images were from kids cartoons and which from adult cartoons. This let me explain the differences of how far the gore in each went, and how I believe kids animation was able to get away with what they showed. The feedback I received was quite critical, however this only let me discover more criteria to write about, that I hadn't thought of before. Because of this I am now more confident that I will be able to write plenty of interesting material for my report.
